Okay, well hubby seems okay with the idea... now for us just to actually get up and MOVING that early on a Sunday...
Good practice for if we get chickies though right?
I like that idear Happy, breakfast before and lunch there... ohhh anyone know if you can bring a lunch?
Or... maybe leave it in a cooler in your car... can you go out and come back in or once you leave you're done??
That'd be a sure way to save some funds... more for rides/games!!
I'm just itching to go... I can't wait to get chickies... I guess if I could find some chicks (yes I know not at the SS) then by the time they're feathered we'd have the coop ready... hmmm... but then, there is the finding chicks part. *sigh* I'm loving Delawares and Ameraucanas... anyone near DFW with either of those??
Oh well, reckon we'll see plenty of folks there, maybe one will be showing those breeds... never know. *shrug*
I bet DD is just going to FREAK! She's such an animal lover... can't wait to watch her face.
Edit... well we went today! SOOO many neat animals. DD loved the horses especially. Son and Hubby were interested enough to put up with our rambling for 4 1/2 hours... I think it was the promise of food.
Some of those bantam roos just blew my mind. So little and yet SO proud! And OMG there was an RIR roo that was just gigantic. Others too, but this guy was out posing for pics with his mistress, holy cow! Saw some Ameraucanas too. DD and DS were finding all the eggs, and there was a smushed pullet egg in on of the Amer. cages, I said (mostly to myself) hmm, a green pullet egg (bit weird since the tag on the pen said Amer you see) and the woman next to me says "Oh yes, Ameraucanas lay green eggs"
I wanted to correct her... REALLY I did, but I didn't... too chicken I suppose... since I don't even have chickens it seemed a bit presumptuous of me. *shrug*
I was also disappointed that I didn't find any Delawares. Plenty of RIR, some Doms, Cochins, Brahmas, tons of bantams IMHO... but didn't spot any Dels... dangit.
Anywho, a grand time was had by all, and I think this could easily become an annual tradition!
