Foster & Adoptive Parenting Thread ---

We had one of these a while back, but it sort of faded. Those of you who know me know I'm sort of an ultra conservative right wing wacko and LOVE my kiddo's. Instead of us all hi-jacking other threads thought I'd re-create one for us to discuss basic problems, laws by state, and help other potential foster parents and adoptive parents move through the basics of getting their license.

A lil about me... I was a natural kid in a large group foster home. I have close to 20 sibs

If you want to read more in depth read my byc page. I pretty much put it all on there. If you see me ranting and getting in trouble with the mods of BYC it's either over 1 of 2 issues........ predator relocation or advocating for children's rights. I guess I don't do either of those topics half way. Don't take me serious 100% of the time because my dry, sarcastic sense of humor is hard to convey over the internet

And if any potential foster or adoptive folks have any questions, please feel free to ask them here and between the BYC foster folks I know and love I'm sure we can help

Hubby and I just signed up for our orientation class to get our foster/adopt license. We've tried for years to have a child, with no luck. I'm excited about our plan B.

I'm very interested in hearing good stories that folks are willing to share, especially their foster to adopt stories.

Foster parent here, too.

Although I haven't had a placement in quite some time. I think they have more foster parents than they have available kids in my area, but that's a good thing!
