I havea baby goose about 10 days old. I had him with me feeding the other geese. The two young females acted like they wanted him.Can I do this? They didnt attack him. They just wanted to get real close. Probably could have got him if that was their intent. ???

They may adopt him, geese make great parents, my Embden gander has adopted my muscovy ducks ducklings. Just be ready to intervene.

I have a pair of ganders that I gave a set of goslings to adopt. I put the goslings in an outdoor pen and let the ganders guard the pen. After a couple of weeks, we allowed them out into yard together. The ganders fought between themselves as alpha gander wanted to make sure beta gander knew the babies were his, but the babies stayed out of the way and a new flock order was established quickly.
