Fostering chicks under broody hen

Hi,

I have 7 chicks that hatched in a brinsea last night. They are doing very well.
I had planned on raising them myself but thankfully my favorite silky has gone broody late last week. She has been a great mom before.

I'm going to place the chicks under her tomorrow night. I know people do it with great success but I have never done it.
Is anyone else doing the same thing?

The longer the hen has been setting, the greater the chance for success. Experienced mothers generally accept chicks, and silkies are generally very good mothers. I think your chances for success are good.
