Foul pox? A type of CRD? I don't know... Please help!

Thanks for the replies! I have seen one of my girls constantly opening and closing her beak as if catching her breath, but they have both been eating and drinking well. Also, I think their slight lethargy is because of the sudden "heat wave". I'm almost positive they have been sneezing more lately (or that's me being paranoid), and they have been making loud, random bok noises out of the blue. I have been giving them electrolytes and vitamins in their water, to help their immune systems, but do you think I should also consult a vet?

Sneezing can occur with most respiratory diseases such as infectious bronchitis (IB,) mycoplasma (MG,) ILT, and coryza. It can also occur with dusty conditions or at feeding time due to dust in the feed. I probably would try to treat them myself since it could be just infectious bronchitis, and vets are very expensive. Tylan, oxytetracycline, or Gallimycing can all be used in the water to treat a respiratory disease, or to prevent a secondary baterial infection in a virus such as IB. Chickens will pant during hot weather and tend to get paler combs, though the odd noises don't sound too good. Vets are very helpful, though poultry vets are rare. If you can find one, you can have tests done to find out what the problem is and how to cure it without guessing

I was thinking it was CRD so I went out and barely made it to TSC (it was closing in ten minutes) and got some VetRx to help them through the night. Tomorrow I am going to go get LA 200 and do the treatment mentioned on the thread Miracle---LA-200 AND VetRx started by Barred Rooster. I wasn't able to give them the Vetrx tonight though, so I will give it to them tomorrow morning.

CRD just stands for chronic respiratory disease, and sometimes is used to mean MG, but coryza, and ILT are also chronic respiratory diseases. I'm pretty sure that LA200 is oxytetracycline that is given as an injection. Tylan 50 injectable is also very good, and used both as an injection or given orally.

I gave the chickens Vetrx this morning and I don't think I will need to go back to TSC because they seem to be much healthier today. I think I will wait and see because they still don't seem to be eating as much as usual. I have been giving them a lot of their feed that has tons of vitamins and I have been giving them electrolytes through their water. I hope they return to normal soon.

Observing the girls more closely I've noticed their ear lobes are still very white, they have sneezed a few times and they've only boked once today. They aren't gasping for air today,but their combs are rather dark at the back. They've been looking a little pale, but that's it. Also, they are eating grass and some feed (and of course all the mealworms I give them), but less than usual. They're drinking plenty of water (normal and with electrolytes), but I just went out and gave them banana, one of their all time favorite treats, and they completely ignored it. They haven't been eating the bread I give them either and they love almost as much as their mealworms. I know they can't be full because they can't have filled their crops in 2 hours of free ranging, so I don't know whether to go out and get more medicine or just leave them be.

I take back what I said a few minutes ago, I went to see my girls and saw one of them sitting on grass looking white as a ghost. Ever since she was maybe 9 months old or so, this particular chook's earlobes always turned white in the middle. But now, her whole earlobe is white as well as her entire face. Please someone help me!!!!!!!!
