Blue eyed black kittehs! Thank you so much for taking them in. I hope you find them all good homes with good families.
And FINGERPRINT THAT BOX! Rat bastids.
I am so glad you were there to rescue those lil darlings. Dumping any animal is just cruel. Sometimes all you can hope for is Kharma! They are so adorable. I have one black and three tuxedo's myself (along with 7 more)
I always use the same milk replacer that we give our calves.
The little tuxy looks like my Griffey, even with half a moustache. They look old enough for solid food, wet food especially. And mine loved play mice at that age. They would growl if you tried to take them away.
Wonderful of you to rescue them! So sad for them to be in a dumpster! For orphan kittens I have fed canned goats milk__and after feedings take a warm wet paper towel and rub their butts to stimulate them to use the bathroom (you act as Mom Cat in this way).
To Katy, I read your formula way back when I first became a member of BYC. I can not count how many kittens I have raised or nursed back to health with your formula. I keep a copy in a easy to find spot and have passed it on to many people. In the past I had used KMR and have no problem with that but this is made from things I always have on hand and works great. So Thank you Katy
Those babies are beautiful! Keep up the great work!
I have rehabilitated MANY litters of kittens. Stick to the powdered kitten replacement milk. Kitten's need a lot of fat and even puppy replacement milk will not suffice. Kittens also have sensitive tummy's so serving milk or condensed milk can and most likely will give them diarrhea. That can cause dehydration and death pretty quickly. They look pretty young so stick to the milk but offer a bowl of the milk as well if they begin lapping mix a spoon of kitten wet food with 1/2 a cup of the milk and let them go to town. Then gradually increase the amount of kitten wet food to milk till they are weaned. Kitten's develop faster than puppy's so don't worry it won't be too long
. Id offer to take them if you lived closer to me as I don't have any fosters going on but my DH would call me crazy since we have the chicks and the pen to build and the coop to buy and a dog to spoil, and a son to play with... and the list goes on. If you have any questions at all drop me a line. Id be happy to help you in any way possible... oh BTW have you seen them go potty yet? If not they may need your help to go. All it takes is a warm wet wash cloth rubbed gently over the anus and genitals to get them to go. A cotton ball will work to if wet with warm water.
I've been busy with school and animals.
The kittehs are doing awesome. They're eating wet food, but they won't drink water. What to do?
I've been advertising them everywhere. I've had a few lookers but they were all questionable. Everyone that's interested seems to be planning on turning them outside immediately and they're just waay too tiny for that.
My vet told me, when they are that little, mix water in with the wet food so they can drink it....................
Those eyes say they are just lookin for trouble..................
