Found a Cockatiel

Okay so my Grandparents live out in the country on 300 somethin' acres. He saw a Cockatiel on the fence and decided to catch it. (Don't know why...) We bought a cage and it seems to have adjusted well to being a pet. Are there wild Cockatiels or is this one an escapee? It hates being touched, so we pretty much just leave it alone. He or she is probably an escape turned wild. Just feed it and keep it happy and it will sing for you.

I just lost one and I miss her talking to me every morning.

Have you tried finding the owner? If it's an escapee, there is probably someone looking for it. Please call local vet offices and report it, at least you know you'll have done your part, and if noone claims it, then he's rightfully yours. There may be someone sitting at home right now crying their eyes out because they've lost their dear pet.
