I found these for $10 each. Two yearling hens that are already laying, and a pair from this years hatch. I thought that was an incredible deal considering that there are 3 hatching eggs on ebay right now that are up to almost $50. I was actually planning on bidding on those until the price got so high. I got lucky and found an ad on craigslist for these. The male is the slightly smaller one in the back and the smallest one up front is another female (I think). Not positive on the smallest one. The eyes are brown, but it's slightly lighter brown than the adult females and I am wondering if it may just not have changed from it's hatchling color? I am not sure on the age of that one but it is able to fly and it's body is about the size of a dove. Sorry about the crappy pics but these guys don't seem to like having their picture taken. Now I just need to find a few Lady Amherst and I'll be set.

This is the smallest ones eyes. Looking again it definitely looks female to me but I would appreciate any opinions since I'm very new to this.

You did good on the price. I sell mine for $20 each. Since I'm in Orlando if you find some Lady Am's let me know to please.

I'm looking for some myself.
QuailKeeper, Yes that is a great price for yellows. If they were closer I would snatch them up myself.

Sorry, I mis read your post. $10 sounds like a good deal to me. I like the red goldens a little better than the yellows, but I wouldn't mind having both.

I was pretty excited to find them so cheap and local. The auction I was watching on ebay ended up closing at $63 FOR 4 EGGS! Seems insane to me but I guess they must be harder to find in some areas of the country. If you find any Lady Amherst or hatching eggs please let me know as well. It's looking like I may have to wait until next spring for those.
