They were gorgeous but they have learned to crow. I got them from Tractor Supply in a straight run. Of the three Production Reds, two were male and only one girl in the bunch. The had the brightest and largest red combs and waddles and their feathers shimmered. Our city has an ordinance against roosters and even though we have a larger than average lot size - we have 2 1/2 acres under fence and our family has an adjoining 2 1/2 acres on the opposite side - on the other side we have non family neighbors and I was afraid they would complain. Not wanting the police at our door and having to rush to find a home for the boys we located someone outside the city limits who wanted them. He assured me they would not be on someone's dinner table so this morning off they went. I had told him before he came how pretty they were and just how large, but I think once he got here he was surprised. We put them in a large dog kennel and the two fellows completely filled the space. It was sad to see them go, but I didn't want to "run a fowl" of the law. It's rather quiet in the chicken run now. Who knew I would get so attached to chickens.
