Found a nest full of eggs outside of the duck house?

I’ve had a couple ducks go broody. One is a runner duck.
I would remove the eggs...she’ll eventually move away.

Just me, but I don’t want my ducks to hatch ducklings for 2 reasons:

1. I know how to care for hatchery ducklings, but not for ones who are born to a mother duck. Would the mother take proper care?

2. I don’t want more drakes.

well, for the first point, how do you think ducks survive in the wild? The mother will most likely provide the care needed, and in the unlikely event she abandons the ducklings, you'd just bring them inside and care for them just like you'd do with ducklings from a hatchery :), as for the second point, it really all depends on what you intend on doing with the flock, if you keep them just to keep them, then a few more drakes wont hurt, however if you wanna breed them and sell the babies you wont be able to keep any of the babies with the parents :D

I suppose you are right. I’m a bit of a control freak in regards to my animals. Good thing I never had children...I would be a terrible mother-in-law!
