Hey all. My step dad is a farmer here and was plowing a field and stopped seconds before plowing over a mallard nest. He called me and I got them(he was going to plow them under). How do I tell how far along in incubation they are? When I candle I see a little black eye and a little squiggly baby about the size of a dime wiggling around in there. Ant ideas?

Thanks it just puts me at a loss when to up humidity and stop turning. That sounds like a good guess to me!

Just stop turning and up the humidity when the entire egg (top and bottom except for the air sac) looks dark. The ducklings should hatch within a few days of that. Make sure to keep your humidity around 55%-60% during incubation, that way they will have 'enough' humidity for the hatch, if you don't catch them in time. Up it to around 75% if you catch them soon enough
