Wherever work sends me.
I found this in my chicken coop this morning. The coop is more than 300 feet from the pond and I haven't noticed these in the pond before.

I knew I had gaps big enough for a snake but not for this. It's time to look closely at the fence-ground interface. If this can get in something else can too.

OH man! We are in Maine and we have seem more turtles this year than ever. My dad is on the lake and he has seen way more as well. I told him the turtles are taking over the planet.

aww.. too bad it will grow to be a big ole mean snapping turtle.

I never thought about them as predators, but yeah, you are right!!

I was laughing at the look on the turtles face- then got to your post and almost choked on coffee.. RAWR.. LOL

On a more serious not though, yes, if he could get in, so could something else. But what an interesting thing to fond in a coop.
Can you imagine the chicken conversation?
What is that?
I dunno, is it food?
*peck peck* Um.. nope
Wait a sec- did you see it move?
No, Hen, you are imagining things.
Wait! Look! I think it moved again.
HEY! It ATE MY BUG!

With all of our flooding, we are seeing tons of them all over the roads. They will take baby ducks and geese right off the pond, from underneath while they are swimming, so I imagine they would take a chick if they could catch it.
