This adternoon I found our first egg of the season on top of my wire brooder pen. There is no scratched out nest on the ground. What do I do with the egg? Should I scratch out a nest to encourage her to use it? I read on the UPA page that an old tire can be used for a nest box.

I found another eggs this afternoon, broken

any suggestions for nest boxes? I don't have anything but goose eggs to go in the bator. Can they incubate together? I think the humidity is different.

Does your brooder box have chicks in it? If it doesn't try putting straw or hay or something like that, to prevent the wire from coming into contact with the egg.

We are going to build a wooden nest box on top of the brooder and one on the ground. Hopefully, that will cover it!
