I can hear it making noises! Unless I am going crazy which I wouldn't doubt at this point!

I'm so excited for you! It's late for me but I have no choice other than to stay up until it hatches and check for updates every other minute

What do they sound like? Duck, egret?

It sounds NOTHING like that egret more of a long peeping sound.

It won't let me play the video for some reason. I can't wait to see what it is. Maybe duck then, I have no clue! The suspense is truly killing me!

I think you need facebook! It is a super cool video! One day I am fully convinced it is an egret and then the next I think its a duck. Any idea the sound ducklings make?

Ugh, I would link a video but I can't do it from my laptop. If you google duckling peeping in egg you should get a couple videos. The sound description sounds closer to duck, but idk

I hope you get a little duck! Would you keep it or still give it to the rehabilitator? I'm not sure what the laws are around keeping wild mallards but it would be cool if you could.

If it's day 24 I bet it's not a mallard, they usually hatch day 26-28. Maybe a teal or something? It would be best with a rehabilitator
