Found Chicks Alone

Chicks got seperated from their mom. Most likely fell from the big Mango tree. Chicks are doing well. If I can't see them I'll call Chew, chew, chew, or Buck, Buck, Bahhh. And they come running to me. They also go up to me to rest or take a nap.

I have to be more careful. Really feel bad. Having two kept each other company. This one will follow me and will chirp loudly at my feet wanting me to hold it. Tail feathers coming out. 1/2 " in length. Colors coming in the wings.

The chick is doing well. Tail feathers are almost 2" long. Tips are mostly oval.I have taken it outside in the morning and late afternoon. Knows to scratch, pick seeds off the grass /weeds and go after bugs. Discovered dry dirt and dig to make a bowl and gives itself a dirt bath? Seems to enjoy that. There are bigger chicks, hens, and roosters out and tries to avoid being picked on so it stays close to me. I'll walk in the back yard and it follows me around picking, and eating. I'll call once in awhile so that I know where it is. Evenings I let it out. I have the carport light on and it goes around catching small insects close to the ground and on my car. My dog does not seem to mind this chick. She hasn't growled or chased it. The others she will and run after them.
