Found dead A&M Quail just now...

I just got home from work and found one of my white A&M quail hens dead in the cage... She was fine at 4:30 this morning... The 4 A&M quail that I have, have been the most mellow birds I have... I was hoping to get them going more... now I'm down to one hen!

I don't know why she would have died... All the other quail I have seem to be thriving... I don't understand why she would have died... I'm shocked, they seem to have been doing so well...

The birds are all 5-6 weeks old... It's not like they werent full grown.... its weird... I guess some die some dont... I figured once they were that old though they would be fine...

I did notice that some of them are starting to poop a peanut butter looking poo instead of their regular poo... if that can have anything to do with anything...

Wow, that stinks. I have no idea what that could be, but if you rule out predators, then that just leaves sickness from something. Hopefully someone who knows more about disease can help you. I know that some animals start out weak and die for no reason sometimes, it happens. Sorry about your quail.

No predators... they are in an inclosed coop right now while its cooler...

only one of the two hens were laying eggs... I hope this wasn't my egg layer... if it was I need the other hen to get going! She didnt have anything wrong with her from an exterior look... I don't know if I dissected it if I could visually see any kind of problem or not...
