Why aren't my quail laying and crowing?

It took some I purchased over a month to start laying once they were settled in and had lights. I'd give them a bit more time. It's harder this time of year anyways so it may take them a bit more time. I hope you'll post when they start laying. Good luck!

I'm mixing the 30% protein that doesn't have much calcium with the 20? 18? 16? % protein with 3 or 4 percent calcium so that way they get both.

That's not going to give them enough calcium, so you probably want to offer oyster or egg shell on the side.

True! Our last egg was 12/3.... nothing since with the shorter days and cold spells (we are in AZ). I'm thinking we probably won't get anything until February.
