Hello,
I found a duck egg over the park, we checked around for a nest but most of the ducks nest on the island in the middle of the lake and this was just by the bench in the main park.
I was going to leave it as felt wrong to take but was so close the path and other ducks were treading on it so though it would be crushed if i hadn't (not sure if it was the right thing to do but couldn't leave it).
This was last week, I have set up a make shift incubator (checking heat- 100f & humidity 55%) and i am turning it twice a day, Is that right?
I candled it yesterday and i can see veins and the embryo inside so it looks to be growing, but not sure what to do now.
My questions are:
1. Am I doing this right, should I be doing something more or different?
2. how do I get the ducking to hatch, just keep doing what i'm doing or does it change toward the end?
3. Obviously I would love to keep it but has anyone got ducks on their own or should I look into sanctuary's? Just want to make sure I do the right thing for the duck if i get that far with it.
