I'm was flipping through our buy and sell classified when I noticed some peafowl for sale, Indian blue and black shoulder. I don't have the right kind of pen for peafowl and don't have a lot of money to build one. But I thought I'd give him a call just to get infomation. So I give him a call and talk to him for a while. I then tell him where I live and he tells me where he lives and as it turns out hes in about the same location! I then ask him what his last name is, he tells me and I find out hes my close neighbor! I knew he had peafowl I just didn't know he had 60 of em! so I rode my bike over there ( took about 5 mins lol ) to see his birds. And sure enough there they were all 60 of them!
he said some of his males are over 6 years old ( they have great trains!). And he sells a pair for only $100 for either Indian blue or black shoulder! Now I'm serously considering finding some place I could put a pair of peafowl! Theirs auction here twice a year and theirs alway lots of peafowl and they always sell for a farly high price. So I'm thinking if I get a pair I could sell the babies at the auction and make some money to help pay for the feed bill. I have a chain link dog run that I keep some of my birds in ( chickens, ducks, a turkey ets), if I could find a place to put those birds in I could put a chicken wire top on the run and keep a pair of peas in it. The dig run is about 10' by 10' or a little less. Would that work? the only problem that I can see is that I don't have a big enough shelter for them

anyway lots to think about

A little small in my opinion. 80 sq. ft. is the recommended size per bird (160 for a pair).
