Found.Is this a Chicken?

My friend called me because she knows I have chickens and she found this small bird wandering around out in the sagebrush in the countryside. It ran to her. I called Fish and Wildlife and they think it is a breed of chicken or a game bird of some sort. Do any of you recognize it?

Yes it does appear to be a chicken. A bantam of some sort, I'd guess. Young pullet. It looks like she has some bruising above her eye. Poor thing chose well by running to a human for help.

That looks like a chicken to me! Maybe a Plymouth Rock or barred rock?

It's not a Plymouth Barred Rock but might be an Old English game bird. Let me tag some folks

are we sure this is a chicken it kind of looks like a young hawk or owl

It's not a Plymouth Barred Rock but might be an Old English game bird. Let me tag some folks

It's a chicken, definitely not a game breed though. It has the creeper gene, which is causing the extra short legs.

It's 100% a chicken. You can see the comb, & owls have a completely different look to them.

I tried to get better pictures of it standing. It stands as tall as my full-grown Serama hens.
