found mass on chicken's chest area...

While rocking my hen tonight I noticed that there was around a 1" diameter area on her chest without feathers...skin color was normal, but there was this thing which looked like a big pimple on her...so I squeezed it and out popped this 1/4" diameter cheese like or let's say more like a partially popped kernel of popcorn. It left an impression on her but no blood or anything like that. Was it from a feather which became impacted or what? Enclosed a pic of the mass.

wow...crazy...does it smell? I wonder if she got a wound or foreign object (like a splinter) in her and it healed up...can you squish it?

Hmmm, bumble chest perhaps? Either way, chickens are remarkable at their ability to isolate infection and make some crazy looking abscesses! Make sure, if there's a pocket left behind from it, you keep it clean and let the wound heal from the inside out. Best of luck!
