Think she ate something? I have quite a bit of poison hemlock, but none around the area that she was. There were also a few pieces of grass kind of embedded in her, there was blood on one. This is very odd.

Wow, this is pretty interesting to me, I would think it would definitely be a predator but I guess not. I am sorry to hear about her loss! I hope your other hens do well.definitely wasn't an accident, like falling. She was lying in the middle of a bunch of feathers, with feathers strewn in every direction. coop is definitely very secure, hardware cloth over any opening, I have an electric fence and it needs to be fixed, very light shock I can barely feel it, which is why I'm even more concerned.
Well she wasn't in the pen. Very naughty girl, kept escaping, though I'm not sure how. I hadn't been out to check on her for a bit because I was having company over and was cleaning and organizing. I guess since Friday I went somewhere and it was cold and I was gone for two hours and she stayed in all then and the rest of the day, then she got out once yesterday in the morning and I for some reason thought, "Oh she must be ready to stay in." What was I thinking? I feel terrible because I know I could have prevented it!Wow, this is pretty interesting to me, I would think it would definitely be a predator but I guess not. I checked all around the electric fence and there are no holes and I am not sure if she was flying or what. There aren't any holes, and thats why its puzzling me! But the fence shock isn't very strong and I need to have it fixed quickly.I don't know how she died, but I can say one thing. You said that she keep's getting out. You need to find out where. If she can get out, then that place is a big enough opening for something else to get in.
