Found my rooster dead in a snow bank :-( ....or so I thought! (Sorry for the long post) Advice requ

Hi There Thank you for sharing your amazing story with us! You sure witnessed a miracle for sure. I am happy for you.
I wanted to ask you a question, when you found your rooster was his eyes open or closed? Was he completely frozen and stiff? By the way how is your rooster doing? I had just found my rooster frozen this Wednesday, February 12, 2014. I wish i would of gave him a chance to thaw out and warm up, maybe he wasn't dead after all. When we first found him collapsed and appeared to be dead/frozen on the floor of the coop, my husband bring him in the house, i wanted to see if he would warm up, and thaw out, hoping maybe he was still alive, but i guess we didn't give it enough time. His feet started to thaw out and were soft again, but his head was hanging lifeless, but i thought it was strange that after a little while he wasnt stiff like i thought he was supposed to be. His feet/toes were soft, i thought once a rooster dies they would get stiff. We were hit with artic blast weather Monday and Tuesday, two days back to back, but this want the first time, this was like our third or fourth round of artic blast weather here in Chicago. I sure miss my rooster, he was a cochin, very sweet, smart and loving. I miss him so much! I am hoping that the hen has fertile eggs so i can keep some of my roosters off spring.
