I was getting ready to make our weekly frittata tonight and cracked an egg from a hen who has only been laying regularly for about a month. It looked like a very tiny cluster of grayish green grapes. I am assuming that it is a cluster of oocytes from the ovary that somehow piggybacked onto a mature egg and made it into the shell. Can anyone confirm this or tell me what it really is if I'm wrong? Just FYI, the actual cluster is only 1/4th of an inch long.
