Found their new nest 😆

It's almost like she bails on him. In the morning, she's gone, and he's running around, making a lot of noise, climbing up on everything to get a good view (the barn, the hay bales, anything he can jump on), but it's almost like he's panicking trying to find her. It's been like this for a week.

But she always comes back in the afternoon or early evening, and then when we get up, she's gone, and he's back to looking again. 😆
You need to find the nest before she goes broody, as she will be much harder to find then and is very susceptible to predation while she’s broody. Another method is to keep her in, then follow her to her nest when you let her out. This works best if you know about what time she lays her egg. If you let her out as she’s ready to lay, she’s likely to make a bee line for the nest. I just found our older group’s nest like this!
