Lash material. I've had a hen deposit a much larger mass than that when she was 2 years old and she was perfectly fine. She'll be 6 this spring.

As stated above, that's Lash material from the oviduct. It happens occasionally but if it becomes chronic, there is infection present. A round of Amoxicillin will clear it all up if needed.
