We are in the process of building our chicken coop. It will be approximately 5 x 8, at a 5-6 ft. height.

Here is the challenge, we are also in the process of buying a quarter acre piece of property connected to our land, so where I put the coop now may not be the place the coop stays.

My question is regarding the foundation. If I knew it would stay, I would pour concrete footing to below the frost line. If it isn't likely going to stay, then should I use concrete blocks? Treated lumber?

Ultimately, once we have the land, I will pour footing, and I will attach the coop to that foot at that point. Any help would be awesome!

Maybe build it on large skids.
How exactly do you plan on moving it?
That could determine how to build the base/foundation.

Pulling it using a Cat or something similar is likely, possibly conveyor belt style with some rods.
