foundational Dutch and Belgian breeds?

Really? I wonder if the feed store still have a couple d'Uccle chicks for sale. I might try one or two out, but I think they were $6.49 each. Ouch. I've already spent a fortune on chickens this year. And that was just February. Must stop buying chickens. Soon there will be no more room at the inn.

(I know. I know. It's better to buy from a breeder and I would if we had some d'Uccles at the right age, just down the street. But I check chickens out first to see how I like them, how they do in weather, etc., before dropping a pile of money on them. And not everyone can (should) afford the risk of buying expensive hatching eggs, esp, if we really only want one or two chicks.)

Anyway, I will keep d'Uccles in mind. You've now got me wanting one or two.

Maybe it means that I have to pick eggs up next time I am in Holland!
