These are 9 week old bantams, hatched on 17/03/2014. I need a little help identifying the cocks and hens here please. I need to get this right as the crowing has started and I can't keep the cockerels so they'll be for the pot by the end of the week :)

First we have BLUE. I'm pretty sure this is a cockerel as he's been crowing.

Next up is GREEN. By comparing her to blue looking at feathering and comb and the fact she's really docile, I'm thinking hen?

Next is PURPLE which I'm thinking is a hen. Not 100% sure but again using blue as a yardstick.

Finally we have YELLOW.. I'm really unsure about this one, can't really tell but leaning towards cockerel.

Thanks for any help! :)

Sorry, but those all look like roosters to me.

Really? Even green with the small comb? Looking at Green and Blue side by side there's a huge difference there. I was pretty sure with that one.

The others, less certain but I thought I had blue and green pretty close. I've been looking at pictures of adults of the same breed and I can't see anything in Green that doesn't look similar to an adult Buff hen.

Can you help me see what I'm missing there?

It's their age. At that age, a pullet will have a very small, yellow comb. Their comb won't get red until right before they begin to lay. Maybe this pic will help. These are Barred Plymouth Rock bantams. You can see the males have large, red combs and the females have very small combs. These are just a bit younger than yours.

Yeah I see now, thank you. Ah well looks like they'll all be for the chop.
