Willow looked at the lone mother and her fawn. She smiled. "Can you come with me?" She asked. She took a step back and a rope frightened around her foot. She looked at the rope that was tied around her hoof. She pulled at it. The bells attached to the sapling rang. You could hear the yelling of men behind her as they ran toward her.

Freddy heard the bells. He went wide eyed and ran to Willow. He bit the rope. It snapped.

Willow went running toward the herd area.

Freddy went too follow. A spear hit his side. He fell to the ground.

Willow stopped to see her father on the ground. Her eyes watered. "Get up,dad! Get up!"

Freddy yelled to her "Run!" He told all of them
 
Rue ran, he looked at Freddy. He ran up to Freddy and helped him up. "Come on old-timer, your daughter needs you." He said, pushing Freddy forward.
 
Freddy shook his head "No go! I'll hold them up!" He pushed Rue with his antlers.

Willow ran as fast as she could

Freddy tried to stand and nudged him off again. The men came from behind. They grabbed is legs and held him still. One man looked into Freddy's eyes. "This is what you get for killing my brother!" He brought a spear down into Freddy's chest. Freddy lay motionless,dead, the spear stuck in his chest
 
Willow watched Rue come up. "Where's dad?" She asked
 
"He...um..they...he..." Rue murmured, he was still shocked. He was breathing heavily.
 
Willow looked at him. She wrapped her neck around his as too hug him. She began to cry knowing her father had been killed
