This is my first post - please help!!
We recently moved our chicks outside to a coop with an upper enclosure with a heat lamp and a caged-in outdoor space.
One of my silkie chicks must have come out of the enclosed area last night and could not get back in. It poured off and on here all night. We found her this morning wet and weak.
I immediately moved her inside and under a heat lamp, wrapped in a wash cloth. After a few minutes she started panting a lot.
For now she seems to be sleeping - my husband is holding her. She is breathing with her mouth open. It seems like maybe she cannot control her head/neck very well.
I'm not sure what to do - should I be concerned about dehydration after 2 or 3 hours? Should I try to get some liquids in her with a dropper??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
