The lesions on Mother stopped getting larger after a total of 11 days after we first noticed them.
Our vet said they will have immunity for now, but it's possible for them to contract it again next summer. There isn't a specific answer for when or whether it recurs and it varies from flock to flock.

Actually, they will be immune to the particular strain that they have now. There are several other strains that they could be susceptable.
