Hi,
I have a fowl pox outbreak that started in my turkeys about a week ago. I have separated them from the broiler chickens but just today noticed that one of them also has the pox. We are scheduled to process them on Friday (we do it ourselves). I have searched the internet far and wide and can't find the answer to my one burning question: is it safe to process and eat a chicken with fowl pox? They have the dry pox and are eating and behaving normally. I did read that humans can't catch fowl pox so I'm assuming that the meat will be safe, but I would love to hear someone else say so
They have not had any medication for it as they seem to be handling it fine.
Thanks in advance,
Jenny
