We have a flock of 20 free range birds, ranging from 2 months to about 8 months old. The picture is from our male 4 month old.

If he has fowl pox, is it safe to keep him with the rest of the flock? I know there have been other threads on pox, but I was just wondering about how it may affect younger birds.

Thank you

Andy

I could be wrong, but this looks more like pecks and injuries from metal fencing. They should heal eventually. What does the other side of his face and comb look like? If you see more scabs on him or others, please post them.

Thank you.
Here are pictures of both sides of his head. The others seem fine, but I’ll take a closer look this afternoon. I initially separated him, but after reading more, I let him back with the flock.
