Great idea! I should probably have a couple of those on hand anyways. My roos are all maturing really slowly (18 weeks and not a single crow among them, and they all just get along like the best of brothers) but I expect that at some point one of them will clue in to their actual jobs.
I looked at Miss Cochin and her wings actually do a pretty good job of covering the bald spot, when they're closed, so I think it'll be a case of just monitoring closely. With any luck she and the Mr. will be outside starting next week and I'll have my mud porch back.
