I am so sorry about your hens. Could you bring her sister in and put in another cage by her, it might make her feel better.

I'd be using an eyedropper or syringe without the needle attached and dribble some electrolyte water into her mouth. You can also give her a baby aspirin for pain. As far as food is concerned, a little scrambled egg mixed with yogurt or just plain scrambled eggs may whet her appetite.

Did the vet put her on antibiotics?

I'm so sorry that you lost a hen and are dealing with another injured. Foxes are beautiful but a nuisance. I agree. It will be back so keep on guard and protect your girls.

Chickens are resilient and can recover from some pretty severe injuries. I'm just glad that you have a vet that will treat them. None around us that will touch them.

Poor girl! Looks like a good bruise going on too. She has had a rough couple of days. Sounds like your doing all you can for her.
