Fox attack

update on Birdie... unfortantely she died over night. I feel so bad for her. I don't know if it was the shock, or the crop thing, maybe both. Poor Birdie.
Thanks for the advice, I did give her some coconut oil last night, and massage her crop. She was resting and breathing normal when I went to bed.
Sorry for your loss. You've done everything you could - there were probably internal damage that could not be detected, or the shock may have taken her.

Very sorry … same thing happening to my buff Orpington . A fox roughed her up and then ran off with one of our silkies. I’m gonna go out and try giving fluid with syringe . Almost 24 hours for our bird since the attack. She just looks very scared and has a couple bites on her back .

I'm so sorry to hear about your buff orpington. The advice I got, was to keep her warm, possibly indoors, and in a safe area such as a dog crate. She needs her wounds cleaned, and offer her water with electrolytes. Keep her somewhere warm and quiet. Our girl seemed to be getting better within 24 hours, then stopped drinking. I syringed her water, but she died the 2nd night after the attack. Possibly from the shock. The only other thing I noticed was her crop was full, and she didn't eat after attack. Not sure if it was secondary to shock, or possibly impacted crop that she was recently affected with right before the attack, and we didn't realize.
Good luck with your girl, I've read some good outcomes on here. Unfortunately it just want the case for our girl.
There is alot of good advice here.
