Fox deterrents motion sensor opinions

Wanting opinions on motion sensor light and ultrasonic emitters as a fox deterrent. Do you use them? Do they work? Also does anyone know of any "scents" foxes don't like... I'm yet to persuade hubby to wee around the coop perimeter though I may have more luck with the six year old

Fox are active during day as well as night. I really think your best defense would be a 2 foot buried apron, to prevent entry into run/coop area.

Also does anyone know of any "scents" foxes don't like..

All I can think of is the smell of gunpowder from a freshly fired weapon.
How often do you see fox in your yard??
