Fox sighting

You have been given some good advice. I have electric wires around my coops and pens and have a lot of predators. It will lurk looking for an opportunity and you may or may not see it and when you least expect it, it will go over or under a fence to get at the birds. Lessons learned the hard way. This is the time of year they are out looking for mates and then will have their kits to feed. I'm sure it is aware of your birds. Good luck...

So far nothing has happened, but today I was talking to my neighbor who has the woods past his property and he said last night right after dark so I'm guessing around 8-8:30 there were two foxes making noises down by our fence. The fence was property fencing, not the chicken run, but still it was close. He said his dogs chased them away and almost got them, but what worries me is that we put our chickens away at around 7:50 last night. It's just so close together that it bothers me. I'm not worried if the foxes come to the coop after they're away because we lock them up, but I'm worried about right before then and in the morning and stuff. I'm even worried about during the day too.

Waiting for the fox to show up at the coop will be too late .If a fox can get in their pen you have time to make changes so they can't. Foxes will wait for the perfect opportunity.

I really wish I could do something but right now my family wont do anything about it until something happens which is horrible in my opinion. I feel pretty helpless about it because I really can only hope something doesn't happen. I'm using the advice I'm getting here as proof we should try and do something, but I'm not sure if it would work.

I've heard playing a radio day or night helps deter predators( but I've never used one ) Apparently the sound of peoples voices frightens them.(as well as motion lights) Once they kill one they'll always return.
