I'm sure I already know the answer but just thought I'd ask you experts. I just discovered not 35 ft from my front door, momma, daddy and 5 baby fox under the barn. I so wanted to enjoy nature and think "oh how cute" but that's not at all what I thought. I have my 4 beloved hens in the back yard. They freerange during the day in a huge chain link fenced area and are shut up safely at night. There are 7 healthy fat outdoor cats. These fox have obviously been around a while and no cats have gone missing. Will the fox eat them? And can they get over the fence to get the chickens?

I'd call animal control or kill them, they are too good at getting under fences to leave them that close. If the chainlink isn't footed in conrete or something similar, they will dig under it.

You're right, the answer is: Yes and Yes

Almost everything out there likes "chicken", however the cats won't normally take on a full grown chicken.

As for the fox, it will and the chain link fence is not a real problem for them.

Actually I'm surprised your chickens have lasted long enough for you to ask the question.

Kentucky

I know Kentucky. I've lived here for 3 years and nothing has ever bothered my girls. My time may be limited.
