fractured femur with new splint

Violet our three year old goose got stepped on by one of our horses. Fractured her "drumstick"! Here she is with her new splint. Don't even ask what it cost. Slightly more than it cost to have my pet rat Pebbles operated on . Not practical for everyone but I am lucky enough to be able to. I am a nurse and worked the holiday. She is a weeder goose from Myer Hatchery.lovely bird.
