Well, my homade bator is up and running, cycling the light on and off, temp inside water wiggler is between 99.3 and 101.1

I made it from an old 48 quart igloo cooler.
Should be very easy to sterilize.
I just didn't want to put the time & effort into some thing as fragile as styrofoam, and I had this old cooler so I thought why not?

I still have to make the egg rack out of hardware cloth, and get a hygrometer, but what do you think so far?

As you can see, I borrowed ideas from the homade bators on this site (Thanks to all those who have posted their bators here) and a lot of the materials I already had laying around.

I think I'll wait til spring to hatch any eggs, that will give me plenty of time to work on a turner.

Nice I like the idea of it being easier to clean. I spray mine down with that clorox anywhere spray. But I worry about it being clean enough after a hatch. Congrats

Wow! I'm impressed!
Let hear of how it works for you!

Just thought about the exposed light: could burn a chick. Maybe you should cover it with hardware cloth.
