Hello Fellow Duck and Geese Keepers!

I have recently discovered a neat happening within one of my runner duck eggs. Fraternal twins <3. They have made to Day 11 so I thought Id share with y'all. There are clearly two yokes, the vascular system in both looks good, and the peeps are looking good for their age in shell.

I know the odds of them making it are not great, but so far they look as though they will make it to day 12.

Has anyone else experienced this?

*One thing I am doing is not putting this egg in an egg rotator. Im letting it incubate upright with little disturbance as possible. I will check again in a few days.

I am in a similar situation mine are day 18 and still doing well 🤞🤞🤞 I would love to know how things go with yours! Mine are either call x miniature silver appleyard, or just call
This is so neat! Happy to hear about your twin peeps- YAY! Mine are blue runner peeps. How are you incubating? Are you doing anything special? Im pretty much staying hands off. I move them only when checking them then Ill turn the egg. I have them up right. Feel like gravity will increase the weight on the peep if they are laying flat tilting back and forth. Otherwise Im letting them do what they do. <3. Besttttttt of luck to you and the peeps! Please share photos, tips, updates of how they are doing.

I am trying to keep hands off as much as possible. I have an automatic Turning incubator. The temperature I try to keep to is 37.5 and am allowing the incubator to cool down for a few minutes, usually whilst topping up the water and candling (I read somewhere it was a good idea to allow the eggs to cool down a bit during the day) the humidity I am trying to keep at 55-60%. I do whistle and talk to them which they move in response. Its so sad to think there is a high chance of them not surviving although hopefully you or I can be the 1st to have a happy ending to the twin ducklings. Wishing you all the best and I will keep an eye on how you and your ducklings are getting along 😊
