Hi, we picked up a pair of chickens (were suppose to be silkies but one looked a little weird) this was a year ago.
All of the feathers on one fell out, like naked, almost about 6 months ago and despite all efforts to help her grow them back they will not grow back in many spots, they seem to be breaking and trapped. So I definitely suspect frazzle. My concern is that they seem quite painful. She was a relaxed Hen before but now seems angry and is LOUD!!! She isn’t eating much and laying much. She jusf seems like she is in pain. We have no rooster and only silkies, I have never seen her get picked on, we only have 4 chickens.
I am just wondering if culling her may be more ethical. She seems like she is in pain. This summer heat is not helping as most of her body is naked.
