Freak accident

I once lost my most beloved dog friend through a series of circumstances that started with me. The horror gave way to sorrow and eventually self forgiveness. Try not to be too hard on yourself.

Thanks everyone

I am trying not to take it too hard but it's tough when I was sooo used to her around me all the time, at night she would come up to me and peck my shoe to let me know she was ready for her ride up to the highest roost in the coop. That is gonna take some getting used to. It seems to always be the ones you hold dearest are the ones you loose. I nursed her back to health a little over a year ago when she had gotten some sort of head injury that caused her to have seizures if she got the slightest bit nervous. Since I had taken such good care of her then, she bonded with me. She lost her sister over the winter which had left her very lonely. She never really bonded with any of the other birds, just me and her sister. She was a very special girl and I will miss her deeply but I take comfort in the fact that she is now up there in chicken heaven with her sister

I'm so sorry for your loss; I know that had to be traumatic and heartbreaking. I have lost a couple ot freak accidents, one of those being when a piece of plywood that I'd left leaning against the fence for later use blew over and fell on my beautiful little blond cochin/silkie mix roo Fabio.

A painful lesson, but you won't find any plywood leaning against anything around here anymore... Again, I'm sorry for your loss.
