So my father went to gather the eggs today and found a miniature egg in the nesting box. We currently have a 5 or 6 week old chick who was accepted into the flock about 2 weeks ago. It's always been a little large for it's age, and a bit more physically mature, but now we're wondering if it's actually already started laying??
We originally thought it was a cockeral, but i mean
She's a RIR black australorp cross (rir father, austra mother)
im so confused please help me, im gonna get a picture of the egg in a second
also is it weird that he/she was integrated into the flock at 3 or 4 weeks old, and started roosting on the top roost (we have two roosts) only a few days after? just asking.
