I have 3 hens that are laying right now. Typically 2 jumbo eggs and a large size egg. So I go down to check for eggs today and I find a jumbo egg and a tiny egg- maybe a tad smaller than a bantam egg. My hens have always laid good quality, thick/ hard shelled eggs. Never any problems. Then I get this tiny egg. A fluke?? What's going on there? Anyone?

Probably just a fluke/glitch.
How old are birds?
What's inside that small egg?
Put something like a quarter or dime in your pics for scale.

Could be a fart or wind egg. I have gotten 4 so far this year. I think they are cute. No yolk, just the white. My girls started laying in February. I punched a hole in them and cleaned them out. I will use them on a country chicken wreath for the back door. Gonna use a garden hat with a wide brim and put a 6 inch fake hen on a nest with chicks in the center ( after cutting out the middle) surrounded all along the brim with flowers. I plan to put the occasional little 1 inch fake fluffy chicken with the fart eggs around it.

It is almost like a factory glitch. Sometimes they lay small eggs. My easter eggers are great layers, but every once in a whle I find a really tiny blue egg down there. It is normal.
