Freaking out... Are they all gonna die?

Just chick crumble and chick grit. I feel a bit better tho. I have them all 12 outside now playing on and in the straw bales.

Are they eating lots of straw? I would just do a morning check before they have any food. Sometimes straw can tangle and get catch in the crop and cause an issue. If they are all empty in the morning, including the leghorn then everything is fine.

I'll take away the food tonight and see, this is the first day out for the little ones and the big ones haven't been out much bc it's been cold

The crop bulge is still sometimes alarming even after you know what it is......they seem to stuff themselves in the late afternoon, but then it's all gone by morning....well not gone but gone thru them lol

Fine lol. Apparently I was freaked out over nothing and worried about something normal

I did the same thing with my chicks one night when they were almost 4 weeks. They were all chirping like crazy around bedtime and when I looked into their brooder, all I saw were these huge crops. They were relatively firm too. I panicked because I'd put some hay into their brooder to play with and was convinced they had impacted crops. I hardly slept all night and when I awoke, they were all back to normal. The next night they started the chirping again and I realized they just wanted us to let them out. That was when I started the plan to get them moved into their coop. :D
