we were planting our garden yesterday and I had this great ideal. why not let the 7 week old chicks free range for a while. they just loved it. never did wander too far from the coop. we took a break and set our chairs in the shade with the chicks. we think they liked us being around. they scratched in the dirt and grass. found all kinda goodies to munch on. they did like the shade tree. when we walked off, they started to follow, until they got into the sunlight. they would turn around and go back into the shade. they didn't scratch any of TW's (The Wife) flowers, but I think that day is comming. I posted a little 30 sec video on youtube. (chicken scratchen) when the wind isn't howling you can hear them cheep. happy chicky day

This is what we are planning too. There is a big mesquite tree at the end of the house with grass all under it..it should be really fun to see them for the first time.
