I was so excited to get a polish I don't know what it is yet but my guess would be a roo as well it seams a lot of the free ones seem to be roos but time will tell. I am picking up 2 dz mixed eggs next weekend and their will be some polish in the mix so even if it is a roo I may get a pullet from my hatching! So excited to get the bator up and running again!! Now I just have to figure out which we are gonna keep and which we are gonna sell which could be hard seeing the kids have named half of them already lolMy exotic chick was a Buff Laced Polish Roo. His pic is my avatar. My only disappointment was that it was a Roo. I'm hoping this order will have a pullet as my free exotic chick.
I got my bator from a local hatchery it was marked down because somebody returned it its a picture window hovabator and I got it for $60 score!!! they guaranteed it and I haven't had any problems had 2 successful hatches last year. My uncle has a cabinet bator he is giving me so very excited about that I want to hatch some turkey, quail and pheasants to release in our back woods property (we have 11 acres) I will tell you once you start hatching it is very addicting lol! Yes we do get attached to them all but I just got 27 in the mail and putting another 2 dz in the bator next weekend so we cant keep them all. Plus if we sell some it helps with the food cost to feed our own on top of the $ we get from selling eggs. Its worth it to have fresh eggs. We went out to breakfast on sun and my daughter (4) ordered eggs and she wouldn't eat them because they didn't taste good. lol it amazes me even the kids pick up on how much better they are.I'm still relatively new and haven't had the courage to hatch my own yet. I don't even have a bator. We always order ours and sell once they get older. Still, it's hard not to get attached to them.![]()
